Stephen Fung’s crime thriller begins with a freed convict (Andy Lau), who evades the police following him by escaping in an AS-350.

The anti-hero parachutes from the A-Star over France.

After the heist, an EC-135 lands on a cliff-top for the showdown.

No helicopters are shot down in this movie as suggested by artwork for some posters.

The A-Star also features in adverts and promo videos for this movie.

Fast & Furious 8

THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS (aka: Fast & Furious 8, 2017)

This action movie is part of a franchise about street racers turned heroes.

During the climactic sequence, an AS-350 gunship with Russian air force markings takes off in pursuit of the hero’s car.

An EMP knocks down the A-Star, and it crashes on the dockside.

Inferno: Skyscraper Escape

INFERNO: SKYSCRAPER ESCAPE (aka: Crystal Inferno, 2017)

A European disaster movie, about a burning tower, this features an Agusta A-109K2 that lands on the building’s heli-pad to save two executives.

The escaping chopper is caught in the blast from an explosion, so it spins out of control and crash-lands in street.

A Bell 212 in Twin Huey flying stunts for DVD cover artwork does not appear in the movie.

American Made

A comedy-drama set in the 1980s, this movie is based on a true story about a former airline pilot who becomes a smuggler.

There’s a Eurocopter AS-350B2 flying over jungle to land at a secret camp.

Nitpicking criticism of American Made includes the amusing anachronism of a company website address painted on the side of the A-Star, although the WWW did not exist until the 1990s.

There’s also a Bell 212 hovering about during a police raid.
